Hi everyone,

I still have to catch up with LaFleur's episode podcasts, then listen to last nights...

However, my reaction to why Sun is in 2007 goes along with the fact that Ms. Hawkins said that if people did not recreate the same conditions of the original plane, the results would be unpredictable.

Therefore, because there was no one to recreate Sun's situation (husband), and obviously not her, she ends up crashing with the others, as if the island did not recognize her as one of the oceanic...

Also, as far as the episode goes, I just loved how Sawyer and Jack turned back to fighting each other, and I loved how Sawyer just crushed the Doc's impulsive leading philosophy. Just great.

I agree with you about the senario, about recreating the crash . There are two islands that we know of, I think that when the islands were moving thru time, one of the islands moved clockwise and the other island moved counterclockwise. So the islands are on different time zones. Ben could not go back to that time because he was still a young boy. Faraday said that you cannot change the past. I guess we will see about that.
Christian was waiting for Sun, he will tell her what she needs to know to get back to Jin.
Desmond is the special one, I think that he will come back to the island to seek revenge on Ben.I think Ben did something bad to Penny on their boat.

A big thanks for one of your callers giving away a big (maybe potential) spoiler.Even though a name wasn't mentioned THAT was a spoiler in the middle of your podcast.

Your off 'my list'

Sorry about the spoiler but then we've never been a spoiler free show since we're very forward looking. Having said that, I think Dan and I tend to be spoiler free to avoid theories based on spoilers (kinda ruins it no?). I guess my bigger question is, how can you tell the difference between a spoiler and a theory if you don't know the spoiler to begin with? I'm going to have to re-listen since I didn't catch anything myself.

Someone mentioned that the numbers were being said over the Ajira radio as the plane was going down. I rewatched the show since I hadn't caught that. I recommend to everyone to watch this show with closed captioning on. It clears up a lot of these questions. It also tells song titles. I even heard a podcaster once say that they thought that when Kate said her son's name in "Eggtown", that she called him 'Eric'. He didn't realize for weeks that it was Aaron. Anyway what the captioning said was"(automated voice) 50, 60..." It did sound like 50 and 60 to me also. I think it was just a decrease in pressure, speed or some other plane control.
I'm kinda disappointed though. The numbers would have been a nice touch. It would've had to have been a time issue if it had happened though since those numbers were recorded over in 1988.

You didn't mention the Dharma alumni photos on the wall. I was loving that scene. When Christian first told Sun to "follow me", I thought that he was taking her to Jin's grave or body. I was relieved that wasn't the case and the message for her was that she had a journey ahead of her. I also wonder now about the wording of 'follow me' and wonder if that's not meant in a spiritual way as well. She may need to become a believer before she can complete her journey. Anyway back to the photo. From the moment we entered the building you could see there were photos on the wall. My head was screaming, "The Shining, The Shining!!" Wasn't the line, "You've always been here Jack"? So let's think about photos. When have we seen another scene with an array of framed photos on the wall that the camera lingers on? Confirmed Dead. When Miles does his ghostbuster/con at Mrs. Gardner's house we see the photos before he goes up. They are all framed in wood. After his little exorcism bit he comes back down and looks at the photos again. They are all now framed in metal! This can't be a continuity error because every frame has been changed. That is just too much effort to be a goof that they didn't catch. They meant to do that. Why? Some think that maybe Desmond changed something in time during 'Flashes Before Your Eyes' or 'The Constant'. However I think it was more immediate. I think something that Miles did, in talking to the spirit of Mrs. Gardner's grandson, changed time. I have heard some theorize that Miles doesn't talk to the dead but instead he talks to or reads people across time. So instead of talking to them after death he is seeing how they died, for example. If it is communicating with them in another time that would explain how the frames changed. If you look at that scene, he notices the frames. He doesn't look puzzled. I think he knows exactly what happened. Having said all that, I think we need to keep an eye out for these Dharma photos agains. Given that the only reason our Losties are in them at all is because of time travel, I think it would be a natural way to revisit this plot point.

Olivia vs. Amy

Where is Olivia? Who is Olivia? Didn't we all think that Olivia was Horace's wife? From what I have heard, the show never stated her name or relationship to Horace, but that ABC at one point had listed her as having the last name of Goodspeed. What we do know: She was driving around Portland with Horace when they came across a grieving new father of Roger Linus; they were also together to greet Ben and Roger at the Pala Ferry upon Ben's arrival; she was Ben's teacher on the island; and finally in the scenes where she was a teacher she was wearing a wedding ring.
On the other hand what do we know about Amy? I am starting to piece together enough interesting facts to form a theory. She may very well be an Other. She may be a mole in fact. Why and how did she break the truce? If the truce merely involves going outside the sonic fence then that would be no accident. Why risk it just to get a better picnic location? We know they were past the fence because she had to lead Sawyer and crew back through it. After her little ear plug trick she had an odd look on her face. It didn't look like fear or relief. It was something else. Deception? Maybe it was a hint that she knows maybe even more than we suspect. Most of these characters seem to. Let's also remember that Richard knows how to get through the fence as well. Richard demanded to return Paul's body to the Hostiles. We are led to believe that it is to prove to them that the other 2 hostiles did indeed kill a man. But could there be another reason? Perhaps to return him for proper burial or resurrection? The only thing she removed from her husband's body was the Ankh. Was it always his or had she given it to him? We now strongly suspect that there is an ancient Egyptian aspect to the history and secrets of this island. We should also think about Ben's New Otherton house. It had a major basement system of locked rooms like jail cells. Whose house had this been in the D.I. days? If Lafleur is head of security and Horace is his boss, then it might reason that he would have a house like this. We know that the 'Arrow' is for Strategic Defense against the Hostiles. What else did Ben's house have? Secret rooms leading to secret corridors. That eventually led to Smoky. What was all over the Smoky door? Hieroglyphics. Now we also know that she just gave birth (on the island even) Ethan, a man we know will be an Other. He is the epitome of an Other. His name is even an anagram for Other Man. Ankhs, hieroglyphics, Smoky, fence knowledge, 'Other' son, and Richard took her husband's body back. If all that doesn't have you wondering, just wait. In the episode "A Tale of Two Cities", and the mobisode "The Envelope" who was sharing scenes with Juliet? It was a little known character named... Amelia. Amelia is more formal version of the name Amy.

DISAPPOINTED

Curt,

I have to also express my discontent with the blatant spoiler in this most recent podcast. I look forward to your show every week as you and your group are both insightful, and intuitive when it comes to all things LOST.

I thoroughly enjoy listening to your team spin YOUR theories week after week. However, it's a seperate issue when someone on your show cites an official source and spoils a major plot point such as the demise of a main character.

I would ask that you be more sensitive to people who do not wish to be spoiled. Believe it or not, I actually have a relative who writes for LOST and I have had to go out of my way not to be spoiled many times.

LOST is one of the most thought provoking television shows of all time and i enjoy just being along for the ride with you. All in all, great podcast and I hope you will take my feelings into account.

I would like to express an opposing view to the spoiler complaints. I am spoiler free this season. I find that I enjoy the show a lot more when I am surprised. I also really love to speculate (as seen in my other comments)and you can't really guess if you already know what's coming. I listen to Lost podcasts. I listen to a lot of Lost podcasts. I listen to every Lost podcast that iTunes puts out with the exception of the Lost Lowdown. I just don't have that kinda time. As you can imagine I am already behind on the ones I listen to now. I will try to get to them eventually. I know which podcasts and sites are spoilery. I avoid those things or just put them off till later. Having said that I do occasionally get spoiled. It happens but it's not usually that bad and I don't get bent out of shape over it. If you simply can't bear spoilers, the only podcast you should ever allow yourself is "Lost Unlocked". I have been listening to podcasts for about 2 years now and have been actively interacting with podcasts and message boards since "316". I think if you give up podcasts and the internet altogether, you will lesson your enjoyment of the show. My best friend, husband and my husband's co-workers get the community's theories through me. I get the same wow reactions from them that I also feel. This is a complex show, and before I was exposed to the Lost Community at large, I just didn't get as much out of it. Having said all that I just didn't notice the spoiler in this podcast. I had to listen to it again. I did see what the spoiler was, but I can't really agree with the complaint. There was no official source listed. We have no idea where she got that spoiler or when it was reported. Also and this is huge, there was NO NAME mentioned. How can it be a spoiler if no name is mentioned? Besides they could be referring to Abadon and Helen for all we know. And the main point I would have to make is that it is stating a prediction that happens EVERY SEASON. Every season characters die. To say that one major and one majorish character might die is practically a non-statement since usually a lot more people than that die in each season. This season alone I count at least 10 characters that have died, and those are just the ones that have names. Fans should be expecting character deaths.

A short note regarding the 316 crash: I haven't heard anyone pointing out that after the flash that take Jack, Kate, Hugo & Sayid out of the plane, it's suddenly daylight! Before the flash it's pitch black... What gives? Is the plane also transported in time, or in space, or both? Albeit a different one from the "O4"? Would like to hear you mull it over...
